I love Lucinda Williams' song "Side Of The Road," where she sings about a brief hiatus from someone she was in a relationship with. I actually took a hiatus of sorts from Lucinda, who is one of my favorite artists of all time, after the last time I saw her in concert.But I am hoping to see her when she opens for John Mellencamp later this summer. I've been listening to her a lot lately, especially Car Wheels On A Gravel Road and her 1988 self-titled album. I'm glad I took a break, and her amazing songwriting hasn't lost any of its effect on me. She is still one of the all time greats.
